Phew

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008

So, I realized a few days ago that stealmycomic.com was available for purchase.  Figuring that I might want the domain sometime in the future, I plunked down a few dollars and bought it.  Rather than buying a separate hosting plan for it, I decided I would share hosting between this site and my other site, www.antiyawn.com.  Little did I realize that GoDaddy requires a Deluxe or Premium account to have multiple domains hosted on one account.

Having only an Economy hosting plan, I had to buy a Deluxe hosting plan, download all 2.3something gigs of data from antiyawn, delete my antiyawn hosting account (scary), and upload all of it back to the new host.  After that, I set about formatting my comics and I settled upon wordpress and more specifically, comicpress which both work wonderfully.

Anyway, when school starts up in a few weeks, you can expect a new comic every Tuesday and Friday when the Tech publishes.

Oh yeah, the artwork change

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008

You may be wondering why the style of my artwork changes so dramatically around June.  I purchased a Wacom graphics tablet a few months ago and have completely changed the way I do comics (previously, it was pen on paper scanned in).

Since getting the tablet, I’ve drawn over 20 comics which I will be releasing throughout the first semester.

Thanks for the comments!

I sumbitted Steal My Comic to Reddit last night and I’ve gotten a lot of great comments. Thank you all for the suggestions. Right now, I’m blogging from a phone. If you plan on keeping up with my strip, check back tomorrow for the last of the summer posts, and then on the 25th (I think) when The Tech goes back to Tuesday/Friday publication.

Orientation week

Monday, August 25th, 2008

Alrighty, new school year!  Finally I can start posting some of the comics I’ve been writing all summer (because that’s pretty much all I’ve been doing all summer).  So, I’m not sure how I’m going to keep this up all year, but I at least have enough comics done now to last me through October.  This week, The Tech publishes an issue every day, so expect five comics in a row.  Then, I guess it just resumes the usual Tuesday Friday schedule.  They haven’t really told me the details though so we’ll see how that goes…

Wow, I’m done

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

So, I just finished submitting/uploading all of my comics for the rest of the semester.  In fact, everything is automated so if I were to suddenly die, you wouldn’t miss out on your favorite comic/webcomic.  I’m going to bed.

What? No comic today?!

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

Sorry folks, we have Monday and Tuesday off this week so the Tech isn’t publishing.  Tune in Friday for your regularly scheduled comic.

No Comic?!

Friday, December 12th, 2008

That’s right.  This is finals week and then comes X-mas break.  The Tech won’t be publishing another issue until January 7th and the usual Tuesday Friday schedule won’t resume until the end of IAP in February.

Stay tuned though, I’m trying something a little interesting for the four IAP issues in January.  I’m doing a four-party story!  Granted, it isn’t going to be funny (sorry), but I’m experimenting with some techniques like hard-lighting and perspective and really just warming up for the next season of Steal My Comic which should have some pretty good artwork.  I hope you guys like it!

Back in action

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

I’m blogging from my iPod in Roman history lecture. MIT is back in the full swing of things, so expect a Tuesday-Friday schedule as usual.

SPRING BREAK WOOO!

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

If you guys were wondering why there weren’t any comics this week it’s because the Tech doesn’t publish during Spring Break.  Comics will resume Tuesday as usual.

Oh, and they’re going to be a little… different.

ZOMGCOLOR!

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

In my constant effort to improve the quality of my comics, I’ve decided to start working with color.  As it turns out, it’s not as hard as I thought it would be…
